Another amp to be added to collection of my is IRS2092. I went with this one, because it has analog input, and very few components needed for it to work. All you need to provide is main rail supply voltages, and gate drive voltage, which could be taken from positive supply if so desired... plug speaker to output and signal to intup and that it!

First order ob business was to read app notes from IRF, to be specific, the an-1135 and an-1138 as well as iraudamp7s, where important information is.

So, based on that, what was writen, PCB was made. It is simple single side pcb, single side because top layer is made of power and analog ground and ground tied to negative supply voltage. All this is explained in those app notes.

Top side was split usind dremel alike tool, easy and fast

So this thing is working in normal oven too, since it can heat up a lot more then you would need. I timed this to get some figures, to see what to expect.

After doing that it was time to go with the real thing and this is what came out this time

There is also another board, so called gate buffer board, which is placed between IRS output's and gates of fets. It's simple circuit, made around 9A, zetex gate driver called ZXGD3002E6. This is because, it takes load of IRS, which keeps it cooler and more happy, while still going above 400kHz with fets like IRFP4227, which is far from the best fet for this IC.

Here you can see blue wire on the left, this are signal input, right next to resistor network (for now), which drops voltage ftom positive rail down for high side drive supply. Next to the inductor, there is capacitor soldered directly to legs of FET, between positive and negative supply rail.

Input RCA... on the right side of the board you can see wire, this wire connects power and signal power plane.

On the bottom side you can see this is still under testing, since I have 10 turn pot for frequency adjustment. Small boards are Zetex gate drivers, driven by IRS. Also here you can see where resistor network connects to, this will be removed later on.

Application Note on bridging audio amplifiers

A discussion on bridging audio amplifier circuits like LM3886. Includes a schematic to drive a matched pair of amplifiers in a bridged configuration, power supply considerations for LM3886 and TDA1514 power amplifier circuits-especially in bridged pairs.

Application Note on parallel-bridging LM3886 audio amplifiers

How to make it loud - real loud. (230 watts rms into 8 ohms without clipping from 4 ICs. How to match LM3886s for parallel operation, then bridge the matched parallel banks. If you are not familiar with bridging amplifiers (BTL configuration), read the Application Note on bridging listed left in article Application Note on bridging audio amplifiers.
